Wayne Rooney has hit some special goals in his time - and he has added to his highlight reel with a goal from beyond the halfway line for DC United.
The former Manchester United and Everton striker's moment of magic came in the 10th minute of DC's clash with Orlando City. Rooney collected a loose ball in his own half, saw Orlando stopper Brian Rowe off his line and sent an inch perfect strike - which proved to be the matchwinner - arcing into the net.
Rooney joined DC United last year when they sat bottom in the Eastern Conference. He subsequently inspired them into the play-offs, and his side currently sit third this term.
A trio of former Red Devils are now in the MLS' 'Top 5' goal scorers this season: Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Nani also among the most prolific players during the current campaign.
