Burnley have completed the signing of forward Jay Rodriguez - who returns to the club where he made his name.

The 29-year-old has rejoined his hometown club from Championship side West Bromwich Albion and has signed a two-year deal with an option of a third.

Burnley academy graduate Rodriguez - who earned his solitary England cap back in 2013 - scored 41 goals in 128 games during his first spell with the Clarets before moving to Southampton for £7m in 2012. After 35 goals in 126 games for the Saints , he moved to West Brom, who were relegated from the Premier League in his first season at the Hawthorns.

Last season marked a prolific spell for the striker, who scored 22 goals in a concerted promotion push from the Baggies - but his season ended with heartbreak in the Championship play-off semi-finals with West Brom losing to crosstown rivals Aston Villa on penalties

Rodriguez becomes Burnley's second summer signing following the arrival of Erik Pieters from Stoke City.
