Algeria squeezed into the last four of the Africa Cup of Nations after a gripping penalty shoot-out win over Ivory Coast.
Intent on their first Afcon triumph since 1990, Algeria won 4-3 on penalties following a 1-1 draw after extra time.
Algeria took the lead through ex-West Ham winger Sofiane Feghouli's side-foot finish, but squandered the chance to increase their lead when Baghdad Bounedjah, who had earned the penalty himself, smacked a spot-kick against the bar.
A strike from Aston Villa forward Jonathan Kodjia drew Ivory Coast level and, after no further goals, the tie went the way of penaltiies: Serey Die missing the decisive kick for The Elephants after former Swansea and Manchester City player Wilfried Bony had already missed.
Plucky Madagascar finally yield
After a fairytale run in the competition, Madagascar's Afcon adventure came to end courtesy of a 3-0 defeat to Tunisia.
Strikes from Ferjani Sassi, Youssef Msakni and Naim Sliti for Tunisia put Madagascar, ranked 108th in the world, to the sword. The Indian Ocean island side had been the tournament's surprise package: stunning Nigeria in the group stages and then beating DR Congo in the last 16.
Tunisia will now face Senegal at 17:00 on Sunday, with Algeria taking on Nigeria at 20:00.
