Crystal Palace moved onto 14 points and fourth in the table, continuing their impressive start to the season with a comeback win away to West Ham.

After a scoreless first half, Sebastien Haller gave the hosts a 54th minute lead firing home from Ryan Fredericks pass to set the London Stadium alight, with West Ham continuing their superb start to the league season.

But just 10 minutes later Crystal Palace struck back, as Declan Rice elbowed in the ball in the area for a handball, left-back Patrick van Aanholt stepped up to confidently fire the resulting penalty past Roberto, deputising for the superb Łukasz Fabiański who missed the first game of his three month injury.

»No defender has scored more goals than van Aanholt in the Premier League since his debut«

And with three minutes to play, Jordan Ayew gave appeared to give Palace the win, but was his goal was ruled out for offside. However after a two-minute VAR delay to check its validity, the goal was given, for Palace’s fourth victory of the season.

It was the closest VAR call we've seen so far, and means only Liverpool and Man City have won more away points in 2019 than Crystal Palace's 25.
