Anthony Martial could hand Manchester United a huge boost by returning to action against rivals Liverpool on Sunday.
Sidelined with a hamstring injury for the last eight games, Martial is due to return to training this week and, providing he suffers no reaction, may play some part for the Red Devils against Jurgen Klopp's league leaders this weekend.
The talented Frenchman had started the season well with two goals in his opening three Premier League games - and he has form against Liverpool having scored on his debut against them back in 2015.
Liverpool go to Old Trafford having won their opening eight league games - and are currently 15 points ahead of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's United, who hover two points above the relegation zone having failed to build upon a 4-0 opening day win against Chelsea.
Martial's possible return would hand a timely boost to Solskjaer's limited attacking options - Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood the only other strikers at the Norwegian's disposal after the departures of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez to Inter Milan in the summer.
Martial has scored 50 goals in 177 games for the Red Devils across all competitions.
