A Gerard Deulofeu inspired victory guided Watford to their first win of the season, leapfrogging them over Norwich to move off the foot of the Premier League table.

The Spaniard, clearly sick of Watford’s drab start to the season, dinked through the entire Norwich defence before firing past Tim Krul with just 77 seconds played in the match.

After the break, Deulofeu took Will Hughes’ pass out wide and picked out Andre Gray for a clever back-heeled finish that deflected off Jamal Lewis to secure Watford’s first win of the season.

Watford ended the game with 10 men when Christian Kabasele picked up a second yellow card for a petulant shove into the boards on Josip Drmic, but the Hornets closed out the game despite Norwich looking lively after the introduction of Todd Cantwell three minutes earlier.
