Brendan Rodgers has ended speculation linking him to the vacant Arsenal position by signing a contract extension with Leicester City through to 2025.
The 46-year-old Northern Irishman has extended his initial deal that was due to run to 2022. Speaking after signing his new deal, Rodgers said:
"Having that ownership here gives you great confidence that you can progress together.
"I hope we can continue to break records, win some trophies, and ideally be in a healthy position in the table.
"We're a wealthy club with fantastic owners, and yet we don't have the finances of a top-six club, so it's about whether we can do it another way, a different way" he said.
Rodgers targets further improvement
Leicester have won 17 of their 26 Premier League matches under Rodgers and currently sit second in the top flight - and Rodgers believes the Foxes will improve in the coming months.
"There's a busy period with a lot of points to play for, and then we've the second half of the season to look forward to, which is when my teams normally improve," he added.
Leicester's travel to Aston Villa on Sunday for their next Premier League fixture.
"I'm absolutely delighted." ✍️
