Arsenal staged a second-half comeback with three goals in nine minutes to end an eight game winless streak in a 3-1 victory away at a sorry West Ham.
Angelo Ogbonna put the hosts up before the break via a deflected header with Freddie Ljungberg’s caretaker management spell looking to continue in a depressing manner.
But with an hour gone, it was the only bright spark of Arsenal’s sorry season who brought them to life. Gabriel Martinelli was the savior one again, completely unmarked in the Hammers box to turn in a Sead Kolasinac pull-back.
And six minutes later, a relatively lifeless record signing, Nicholas Pepe, smashed home superbly to give Arsenal the lead, and three minutes later his deflected cross found Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to put the game to bed.
The much-needed three points lift Arsenal back into the top half, while West Ham sink even closer to the relegation places, just a point ahead of Southampton who are 18th.
