          Portuguese lessons for Fernandes

          Defying the old adage that it's impossible to conduct good business in the January transfer window, Bruno Fernandes has gotten off to a flyer at Manchester United - and if he needs pointers on how to succeed at Old Trafford he need only look at his Portuguese predecessors.

          Although the current postponement of all football across Europe has put a dampener on Fernandes' fabulous form, the Premier League 'February Player of the Month' looks a star in the making and has three goals and four assists already to his name after nine appearances in a Red Devils jersey. 

          Where previously United looked uninspired and nervy on the ball, Fernandes has injected calm confidence and verve into the Red Devils' play, his uncanny ability to find space and pick a pass rubbing off on those around him. 

          Fernandes is following in the footsteps of FIVE Portuguese players who have played for United in the Premier League since its inception. Here, we rank the Portuguese contingent from one to six, in terms of their performances and impact at Old Trafford...there are no prizes for guessing who's number one...
