Joshua Kimmich sent Bayern Munich seven points clear at the top of the Bundesliga today with a delightful 43rd minute chip that left Roman Burki, and Borussia Dortmund’s title hopes, flailing.
The game started at a pace with Erling Braut Håland looking lively before both he and Serge Gnabry were denied by goal line clearances to keep the game level.
And although Dortmund took the initiative early on, it was Bayern who broke the deadlock, with Joshua Kimmich lifting a deft chip over Burki for the games only goal, and a now massive seven point lead at the top of the Bundesliga with six games to play.
After the match Kimmich said, "That was the best goal of my career, we were told before the game that Burki often stands off his line."
Oh. My. Word.

And while the goalkeeper made an error, it shouldn’t take anything away from the beauty of a goal that gives Bayern one hand on their eight consecutive Bundesliga title.
Meanwhile, for Dortmund things could get worse as they could drop down to third should Leipzig win tomorrow, and football’s next big talent, Haland, hobbled off with a suspected hamstring injury.
Elsewhere, one of Europe’s form teams in 2020, Bayer Leverkusen, capitulated at home to Wolfsburg, losing 4-1 thanks to goals from Max Arnold, Renato Steffen, and a brace from Marin Pongracic, which ends a run of 10 wins and a draw in all competitions for Leverkusen.
Eintracht Frankfurt, one of the continent's surprise outfits last season, suffered another twist in their disappointing follow up campaign as they played out a 3-3 goal fest with European pushers Freiburg, coming back from 1-0 down, and then 3-1 down to claim a home point.
And in the day's final game, second from bottom side, Werder Bremen, picked up a crucial point in a 0-0 draw against top four team Gladbach.
