Napoli edged a penalty shootout to lift the Coppa Italia after a goalless draw at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

In the first 90 minutes of the game, Napoli were the dominant side and created more chances, with Gianluigi Buffon keeping Juventus in the game several times. With Cristiano Ronaldo well-marshalled, Juve were rather predictable and failed to cause Napoli's defence much trouble.

In the decisive penalty shoot-out, Paulo Dybala saw his effort saved first up by Alex Meret before Danilo blasted over after a stuttering run-up. Arkadiusz Milik was up to the task of converting the winning penalty to give Napoli the sixth Coppa Italia win in their history.

Napoli's win marks Gennaro Gattuso's first major trophy as a manager, while Maurizio Sarri missed another chance to win his first silverware in his homeland.
