West Bromwich Albion clinched promotion to the Premier League with a 2-2 draw against QPR on Wednesday night - leaving rivals Brentford and Fulham to rue missed opportunities.
A point at The Hawthorns proved enough for the Baggies - pushed all the way on the night by a spirited Rangers side - who go up in second place behind champions Leeds.
West Brom were on the back foot early on when Ryan Manning gave the visitors a first-half lead. However, Albion found a way back into the contest and goals either side of the break from Grady Diangana and Callum Robinson looked to have put them on course for the win that would make promotion certain.
Matchweek 46 proved a night of thrills and spills in the second tier, though, and inkeeping with the general bedlam, Eberechi Eze struck a stunning equaliser to drag Rangers back into the game at 2-2.
If either Brentford or Fulham had won, a draw wouldn't have been enough for the Baggies to reach the English top flight, but their luck held as the Bees slipped to a 2-1 defeat at home to Barnsley and the Cottagers were held to a 1-1 draw by Wigan.
