Brentford striker Ollie Watkins has joined Premier League Aston Villa for a fee of £28m.
The deal, which could rise to £33m with add-ons, sees the 24-year-old leave Brentford - where he topped the Championship goal charts last season - to reunite with former Bees boss, and current Villa manager, Dean Smith.
Watkins hit 26 league goals in the 2019/20 Championship campaign - Brentford finishing third in the regular season, but missing out on the top flight after a 2-0 play-off final defeat to Fulham.
The former Exeter striker becomes Villa's second signing of the transfer window after the £16m capture of defender Matty Cash from Nottingham Forest.
"Ollie has developed into one of the most sought-after strikers in the country," said Villa boss Smith.
"We are looking forward to seeing him show his great qualities in an Aston Villa shirt.
"He is a hugely determined character who has both the ability and personality to succeed at the highest level."
The fee represents a record for that paid for a Championship player. Speaking in the wake of his transfer, Watkins namechecked his new manager and spoke of his desire to add firepower to a team whose forwards only managed a combined total of six Premier League goals last season.
"I am so excited to join Aston Villa and to reunite with Dean Smith as my head coach," said Watkins.
"I want to do something special here and score some goals."
