Everton have confirmed the signing of Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure in a deal reported to be worth £20 million plus add-ons.

The 27-year-old has signed a three-year deal at Goodison Park with the option of a further year, and becomes the third major signing in four days following the arrivals of former Real Madrid and Colombia international James Rodriguez and Brazilian midfielder Allan from Napoli.

"I can bring my energy - I am a powerful player, I can run a lot, all the game," said Doucoure to Everton's official website.

"I am very happy now to be an Everton player and very excited for the future. I can bring my energy - I am a powerful player, I can run a lot, all the game.

"I can add goals as well. I will try my best to score goals and help the team."

The French midfielder spent four years at Vicarage Road prior to the Hornets' relegation from the Premier League in 2019/2020, having scored 17 goals in 141 games during his time with the club.
