England failed to beat Denmark in their second match of the Nations League as the two sides settled for a goalless draw at the Parken Stadium on Tuesday night.
The Three Lions lacked creativity for long spells of the game, with a very defensive and experimental side that saw England debuts for Kalvin Phillips and Conor Coady.
But the new boys didn't help an English side lacking in fluidity, and not even the introduction of more flair in the shape of Mason Mount and another debutant, Jack Grealish, could spark a belated surge towards another late victory.
The Danes dominated throughout the game, crafting the best chances in the game and should have gone ahead after Christian Eriksen, Yussuf Poulsen, Martin Braithwaite and Kasper Dolberg all went close to snatching a noteworthy win for the hosts.
As the game winding down, England captain Harry Kane rounded Schmeichel only to see his goal-bound effort cleared off the line by Mathias Jorgensen.
Belgium's 5-1 victory over Iceland means they top the group with six points after winning their first two matches, while England are second with four points. Denmark are third in the group with a single point while Iceland remain rooted at the bottom having suffered two defeats in a row.
