      Brentford

After an impressive win against Southampton’s first eleven in the Carabao Cup midweek, Brentford followed it up with a solid 3-0 victory over Huddersfield. Without star-man Said Benrahma, the performances of Josh Dasilva, Marcus Forss and Bryan Mbuemo showed they’ve got what it takes to step up again this season.

      Luton
Nathan Jones continues to win fans back with some impressive form since his return in the pandemic induced shut down, and a 2-1 win over Derby County makes it two in two in the league this season, with Luton winning every game in every competition this campaign too.

      Blackburn
After a frustrating opening day loss to Championship new boys Bournemouth, Blackburn followed it up with a 5-0 drubbing of Championship new boys Wycombe. Both opponents came from very different leagues, but it was the kind of confidence boosting result that should serve Rovers well. Especially with a hat-trick from Adam Armstrong, England’s top scorer in 2020.

      Ipswich
Fans will be cautious about getting ahead of themselves after how last season started and fizzled out, but two wins in two with four scored and zero conceded is nothing to complain about.

      Lincoln
Another side with a perfect record, Lincoln go joint top in League won with a 2-1 win over MK Dons on the back of an opening day win over play-off finalists Oxford, not a bad start to the season for Michael Appleton’s League One outfit, who have five wins from five in all competitions.

      Port Vale
After extending their extraordinary opening day unbeaten run to SIXTEEN games, Port Vale followed it up with an impressive 2-0 win over one of last season’s best teams, Exeter.

      Cambridge
Another side with a perfect record, Cambridge took top spot in League Two with a 5-0 thumping of Morecambe, with former Premier League midfielder, Wes Hoolahan starting the scoring making it a pretty happy day for Mark Bonner’s men.

      Nottingham Forest
After their final day collapse out of the play-offs, things haven’t got any better for Nottingham Forest, who are pointless after two games following a humbling 2-0 home loss to Cardiff that has led many fans to call for Sabri Lamouchi’s head.

      Derby
It’s a similar story for bitter rivals Derby, who also make it two losses from two with a 2-1 defeat against Luton. Unlike Forest though, Derby had a reasonably positive end to 2019/20, but like Forest, fans are also quickly running out of time for their coach.

      Oxford
The U’s play-off final is a distant memory now after such a poor start to the season that leaves them dead bottom of League One on zero points. One of the EFL’s best footballing sides last season, a 2-0 loss to Sunderland needs to be recovered from quickly before things spiral out of control.

      Wigan
The bad news keeps on coming for Wigan who begin life in League One with zero points from two games after defeat to Gillingham, and after losing virtually all of their best players from 2019/20, things off the pitch continue to deteriorate.

      Exeter
Much like the sob stories in the two divisions above, Exeter are the League Two side that seem to be unable to recover from their disappointment last season, with a 2-0 loss to Port Vale leaving them on just a single point this season.

      Southend
Dead and buried in League One last season, Southend are following the trend in League Two in depressing fashion. The only good news is a 2-0 loss to Carlisle is somehow an improvement on an opening day 4-0 loss to newly promoted Harrogate.

      Grimsby
Things were looking positive for Grimsby under Ian Holloway last season, but two losses from two, with a 4-0 drubbing from Salford today is a big cause for concern.
