Former Ajax coach Frank de Boer will take over the reins of the Netherlands national team.
The former Crystal Palace boss has been awarded a two-year contract that will encompass the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
A classy centre-back, who enjoyed a glittering club career with Ajax and Barcelona, de Boer himself made 112 international appearances for the Oranje and he will succeed Ronald Koeman who was appointed Barcelona manager back in August.
More recently, after short stints as coach at Inter Milan and Palace, De Boer managed MLS club Atlanta United from 2018 to July 2020.
He was Bert van Marwijk's number two when the Netherlands reached the 2010 World Cup final and won four Eredivisie titles as Ajax manager between December 2010 and May 2016.
The Dutch national team's first games with De Boer at the helm will be a friendly versus Mexico in Amsterdam on 7 October and the subsequent Nations League clashes against Bosnia-Herzegovina and Italy on 11 and 14 October respectively.
