Championship side Nottingham Forest have sacked head coach Sabri Lamouchi following Saturday’s loss to Bristol City that left the club with zero points from their opening four games.

Former Rennes coach Lamouchi was hired for the 2019/20 season and got off to a solid start with his side constantly in the top six, but a collapse after the pandemic induced shut-down culminated in an extraordinary final day drop out of the play-offs that no one saw coming.

And things didn’t get any better this season, with Forest making it seven losses on the bounce in all competitions, without a win since July, 12 games ago.

Chris Hughton is the bookies’ favourite to take over the role, with the likes of Eddie Howe and Nigel Clough also in the running.
