Telepathic Kane & Son claim another three points

Tottenham Hotspur made it three wins from six at Turf Moor on Monday night, as a far from impressive display against Burnley was decided by Harry Kane assisting Son Heung-min for an astonishing seventh time this season.

Burnley, in a sorry state with just one point from their opening five games, got off to a decent start, despite nearly being reduced to 10 men as Ashley Barnes drew blood from Toby Alderweireld with a dangerous elbow.

Sean Dyche’s side put Hugo Lloris to work from long range in a dominant first-half, and were nearly ahead in the second when Harry Kane made a goal-line clearance after James Tarkowski rose highest from a corner.

And it ended up being a costly chance missed for Burnley, as Spurs had a corner of their own with 15 minutes to play and worked it brilliantly, as Erik Lamela found Kane who flicked the ball on for Son’s league-leading eighth goal of the season, seven of which have somehow been been assisted by Kane.

In the early kick-off, arguably the Premier League’s unluckiest team this season, Brighton, got off to another fine start, with Adam Lallana living up to expectations, creating multiple chances that the Seagulls really should have done better with.

And just before the break, Brighton’s luck finally changed, with the superb Tariq Lamptey seeing his pass to Neal Maupay somehow squeeze through Sam Johnstone and Semi Ajayi, before Branislav Ivanovic’s clearance went straight into Jake Livermore and back where it came from, into the West Brom net.

It turned out to be the wake up call West Brom needed though, with the Baggies starting the second half how Brighton began the first, seeing star man Matheus Pereira curl a shot wide before Filip Krovinović tested Matt Ryan from range.

Pereira flashed another decent effort wide, but it looked like Brighton had secured the three points, however, with seven minutes to play, a seemingly wayward Callum Robinson cross was directed into the path of summer signing Karlan Grant by Adam Webster, with Grant then wrong footing Ben White and smashing home his Premier League first.
