Football fans in areas with low rates of coronavirus infection will be allowed to return to games as the UK emerges from a month-long lockdown and back into a tiered system from December 2nd.
Areas with the lowest rates of Covid-19 will be placed into tier one, and clubs in that area will be allowed a maximum of 4,000 fans in stadiums.
Up a level, in tier two, a maximum of 2,000 supporters will be allowed in grounds, while in tier three, where the majority of the country will remain for now, zero supporters will be allowed to return to stadia.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson will set out the new protocols as the UK’s blanket lockdown ends in nine days time, with the return of fans expected to be addressed in a statement to the House of Commons this evening.
