Argentina legend Diego Armando Maradona has passed away at the age of 60.
According to reports in his native country, 'El Pibe' suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest leading to his death. Maradona was recently hospitalised and underwent brain surgery and was released on November 11.
Considered one of the greatest players of all time and an idol for an entire generation, his performances in Mexico '86 will be remembered by many, leading his country to a World Cup victory. He also captained Argentina to the 1990 World Cup final, losing to West Germany.
Maradona scored 34 goals in 91 appearances for Argentina, representing them in four World Cups.
He played for Barcelona, but he was more well known for his time at Napoli, where he became a club legend, winning two Serie A titles and a UEFA Cup with the Italian side.
