Bayern Munich look set to ward off interest from many of the Premier League’s top sides by securing England U21 Jamal Musiala to a long term deal after the 17-year-old put in a string of eye-catching displays for the European champions.

The German-born English international was at Chelsea’s academy for eight years before opting to move to the Bundesliga last season, and with Bayern’s lack of depth on the bench following some summer sales, Musiala has managed to get 23 games under his belt this season.

Scoring three times and dazzling defenders with his extraordinary dribbling ability and close control for a player of such a slight size, Musiala has garnered a reputation as one of the most promising teenagers in world football, and could earn up to £100,000 a week in Germany.

With Bayern set to win the battle to keep the youngster in Germany at club level, there looks to be another contest brewing with Stuttgart-born Musiala eligible to play for Germany and England, having represented Germany at under-16 level, and England at under-15, 16, 17 and 21 level.

Musiala’s future will not be secured until he makes a senior appearance for either country, but with such impressive displays so early in his career, that decision could come sooner than expected.
