EFL winners and losers

We take a look at this week's winners and losers from up and down the EFL as Matchweek 4 has come and gone.

Winners

Birmingham City

Birmingham ran out impressive 5-0 winners away to Luton Town this weekend meaning Lee Bowyer's men now have the best away record in the division with two wins from two.

With a man of the match of the match performance from forward Scott Hogan, The Blues jumped up into the top of the table into eighth place.

Wycombe Wanderers

Wycombe beat last season's play-off semi-finalists Lincoln to hop up into second position in League One.

Having just fallen out of the Championship last season, Wanderers will be looking to bounce back and with the introduction of new striker Sam Vokes who got their winner this weekend, and has two goals to his name already, promotion looks a realistic target for The Chairboys.

Forest Green Rovers

In what turned out to be a crazy result at The New Lawn this weekend, Forest Green won 6-3 against Crawley Town in a result which saw the Green Army top the table in League Two, with four wins in their opening four.

Manager Rob Edwards will look to try and mount for a promotion push once again this season and will be relying on centre forward Matty Stevens to continue his fine run of scoring form, with five goals to his name already this season.

Losers

Sheffield United

Sheffield United are yet to win a league game this season and they thought they had snatched a point through club legend Billy Sharp when he equalised in the 92nd minute, only for Huddersfield to go down the other end and snatch a 2-1 victory at Brammall Lane.

The result leaves the Blades 23rd with just a point to their name, a disappointing start to the campaign for a team who many were expecting to bounce back and return to the top flight.

Crewe Alexandra

Crewe are yet to win a game in the league this season and sit 23nd in League 1, separated from rock bottom by pointless Shrewsbury Town.

They sit with just one point to their name so far having slipped to a 1-0 home defeat to Accrington Stanley. Crewe travel to fellow strugglers Charlton next week in what looks to be an early season six pointer at The Valley!

Oldham Athletic

Oldham are currently rock bottom of the football league, sitting 24th in League Two. This weekend's result will not have helped either suffering a 2-1 defeat at home to Colchester.

Four defeats from their opening four has got their current campaign off to the worst possible start and it certainly looks an uphill battle for Keith Curle's Latics if they are want to challenge for the play-offs this term.
