England crashed out at the U17 World Cup after falling to a 2-1 defeat against Uzbekistan.
Uzbekistan made a strong start in Jakarta and quickly took the lead within four minutes when Amirbek Saidov scored a goal past Tommy Setford.
Despite conceding, the Young Lions remained undeterred and immediately sought to respond. They created several chances, but both Sam Amo-Ameyawand Reiss-Alexander Russell-Denny were unable to find the net.
The persistent pressure from Ryan Garry's side eventually paid off. In a well-executed team move, Joel Ndala broke into the box and calmly scored the equaliser into the bottom corner.
The match hung in the balance as it headed into the second half, but Uzbekistan took the lead again 22 minutes after the break, with Lazizbek Mirzaev expertly curling a free-kick into the net.
England reacted quickly and came close when Ndala unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box that hit the crossbar.
However, despite their efforts, the Young Lions were unable to find the desired goal, meaning that their U17 World Cup campaign comes to an end.
