Struggling Bayern Munich slumped to a 3-2 loss at VfL Bochum on Sunday as Thomas Tuchel's side lurched to a third consecutive defeat in all competitions.
The loss dealt a blow to Bayern's hopes of reeling in Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen, who are currently eight points clear of the reigning champions.
Bayern, who had defender Dayot Upamecano sent off again after his red card in the German side's Champions League defeat to Lazio last week, took the lead in the 13th minute when Jamal Musiala turned home from a tight angle.
However, Bochum scored twice before the interval courtesy of strikes from Takuma Asano and Keven Schlotterbeck to wrestle back control of the contest, and the hosts added a third in the 85th minute when Kevin Stoeger converted from the penalty spot.
England striker Harry Kane netted his 25th Bundesliga goal of the season to throw Bayern a lifeline, but Bochum held on to seal victory and pile the pressure on visiting coach Tuchel.
The game was interrupted throughout, as supporters threw tennis balls onto the playing surface to protest against planned foreign investment in the Bundesliga.
Following the result, Bayern remain second in the table, while Bochum moved up to 11th.
