Sarina Wiegman has named her England team for the upcoming Women's Finalissima 2023 against Brazil and a friendly game with Australia.

The squad includes some notable reselections, including Aston Villa goalkeeper Hannah Hampton who makes her first appearance in an England team since the Euros. Back in September, Wiegman suggested that Hampton had to do “something personal that I would not like to comment on”, in a comment believed to be relating to the goalkeeper’s attitude.

It now seems that Hampton has managed to convince the England manager that she has earned a recall to the squad.

Meanwhile, West Ham United’s Lucy Parker has the chance of earning her first cap after having had to previously pull out of the England squad in September.

As well as announcing her new squad, Wiegman gave an update on the fitness of Beth Mead.

“She's not in our plans now,” the England manager said. “Just to really take the time to get back well.” Although she did admit that if Mead was to recover faster than expected she would consider her place in the upcoming World Cup.

England face Brazil on April 6th before a clash with Australia on April 11th.

      That squad in full:

Goalkeepers: Mary Earps (Manchester United), Hannah Hampton (Aston Villa), Sandy MacIver (Manchester City), Ellie Roebuck (Manchester City)

Defenders: Millie Bright (Chelsea), Lucy Bronze (Barcelona), Jess Carter (Chelsea), Niamh Charles (Chelsea), Alex Greenwood (Manchester City), Maya le Tissier (Manchester United), Esme Morgan (Manchester City), Lucy Parker (West Ham), Leah Williamson (Arsenal)
