Liverpool's late double whammy sends Gunners out of cup

An own-goal from Arsenal defender Jakob Kiwior and a late strike from Luis Diaz settled an entertaining third round FA Cup clash in Liverpool's favour at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday evening.

Billed as the tie of the round when the draw was made, the game had to wait 80 minutes for a goal, but there were no shortage of chances throughout - the hosts, in particular, wasting very presentable opportunities in a first-half that saw Martin Odegaard and Trent Alexander-Arnold hit the woodwork for either side.

After the break, the visitors' control of the game increased, Arsenal keeper Aaron Ramsdale saving well from Diaz and Diogo Jota heading against the frame of the goal.

After a host of attacking substitutions by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, the Merseysiders made their all-important breakthrough on 80 minutes when Alexander-Arnold's whipped free-kick flicked off the head of Kiwior past Ramsdale.

The Reds set the seal on a thoroughly professional victory with a late strike from Colombian Diaz, who fired high into the net to secure his side's place in the fourth round.

xG: Arsenal (1.89) 0-2 (0.85) Liverpool

As an Arsenal fan, I am absolutely gutted by this result. We had so many chances in the first half and should have taken the lead. But credit to Liverpool, they were the better team in the second half and deserved the win. That own-goal from Kiwior was just unlucky, but it's these small moments that can make or break a game. Disappointing result, but we'll bounce back.

As an Arsenal fan, this was a painful game to watch. Kiwior's own-goal and Diaz's late strike sealed our defeat against Liverpool. We had so many chances but couldn't convert. Disappointing performance from the Gunners.

As a Liverpool fan, I'm relieved to see us come out on top in this FA Cup clash. It was a tough match against Arsenal, but our players showed great determination and persistence throughout the game. The own-goal from Kiwior definitely helped us out, but our late strike from Diaz was a well-deserved winner. Great performance from the boys!

As an Arsenal fan, I am absolutely gutted by this result. An own-goal and a late strike from Liverpool were enough to seal our fate in this FA Cup match. We had our chances in the first half, with Odegaard and Alexander-Arnold hitting the woodwork, but we just couldn't convert. And in the second half, it was all Liverpool's game. Ramsdale made some great saves, but it wasn't enough to stop the inevitable. Gutted, but
