Bundesliga side Werder Bremen have announced the signing of midfielder Naby Keita from Liverpool on a free transfer.
Liverpool confirmed last month that they would not be renewing the 28-year-old's contract, resulting in his departure at the end of the season.
Keita, who originally joined Liverpool from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2018, is bidding farewell to Anfield after spending five seasons with the club, making 129 appearances and scoring 11 goals.
Throughout his tenure with the Reds, the Guinean achieved significant success, including winning the Premier League, Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, Emirates FA Cup, Carabao Cup, and FA Community Shield.
Speaking after his confirmed move to Werder Bremen, Keita said: “I’m really excited for my new challenge here in Bremen.
“I was impressed by what the club told me about the setup here and Werder’s style of play. The coach gave me a really good feeling and showed how I can help the team.
"Werder is a special club and I know the Weserstadion from my time with Leipzig. This club and its philosophy will be a good match for me, so this is the right step for my career."
Welcome to Bremen, Naby! 💚🤍
