New QPR signing Loic Remy dreams of emulating his hero and Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry in the Premier League.
“My family are from Martinique, he’s [Henry's] half [Martinique], that’s where it must come from,” Remy told The Sun.
“The biggest compliment in 10 years would be: ‘Remy had a career like Titi Henry.’
“He’s played more than 50 matches flat out every season for 15 years, scored 51 goals for France, has an incredible record of trophies.”
“For the time being I’m very far away. But you can always dream of being a big name in French football.”
The former Marseille striker made a great debut for Queens Park Rangers, last weekend, scoring an important goal for the league strugglers helping his new side take a point from West Ham in a 1-1 draw.
The 26-year-old also explained that he found it hard to play at international level with France, initially.
“The first time I trained with the France team in 2009-10 helped me understand what the highest level was really about. I was struck by the technical ability and the intensity. It was another dimension,” he added.
“I told myself: ‘I’m never going to last.’ When you’re facing someone like Franck Ribery, in terms of speed and concentration, you have to hold on.”
