Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has rejected rumours claiming that Luis Suarez will be leaving the club after reported interest from Premier League champions Manchester City.
The Uruguayan striker has been linked with an exit from Anfield Road, with the Reds risking to fail to qualify for the Champions League.
However, the Northern Irish boss insisted that the 26-year-old is committed to his long-term contract which he signed in August.
“Luis had a terrific season last season and he had an opportunity to leave in the summer, and probably would have had a ready-made excuse with a new manager coming in, but he never did,” Rodgers told reporters.
“He committed to the club. He sees the vision going forward, and he believes in that.”
“He knows it won't happen overnight. He has had a brilliant season with 20 goals until now, and hopefully there are many more to come.”
Suarez has already scored 20 goals, in all competitions, so far this season.
