Spain boss Vicente Del Bosque has won the 2012 Fifa Coach of the Year award.
The 62-year-old, who led La Roja to their third consecutive major trophy at Euro 2012, beat Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho and former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola with the two men having also made it to the top three contenders for this year’s FIFA Manager of the Year prize.
Mourinho, who guided Real Madrid to their first Liga title since 2008, missed out on the award after winning the award in 2010 and coming third last year.
Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola had to settle for a top three spot as well after leading Barcelona to claim the Copa del Rey in the 2011-12 season.
As for Del Bosque, he now has two Champions Leagues, a World Cup and a European title in his trophy cabinet.
