Flamengo wins and overtakes Defensa y Justicia

Flamengo edged out Defensa y Justicia, 4x1, on Thursday, in a match relating to the Last 16 of Libertadores. In this competition, Rio de Janeiro (RJ)'s team came from a win, and Florencio Varela's team came from a defeat. Vitinho was the man of the match.

The first goal was scored by Rodrigo Caio after 9 minutes, from a corner. In the 41st minute, Raúl Loaiza struck for Defensa y Justicia, with a right-foot strike.

With 66 minutes on the clock, De Arrascaeta strucked the second goal for Flamengo, through a header inside the box. With 83 minutes on the clock, Vitinho struck for Renato Gaúcho's team, with a left-foot strike from outside the box, after a pass from De Arrascaeta. In time added on, Vitinho netted the final goal of the game, with a right-foot shot, assisted by Gabriel Barbosa.

With this result, Flamengo are through to the next round of the competition. With regard to the next fixture, Renato Gaúcho's team visit Olimpia.
