Bayer Leverkusen beat Borussia M´gladbach in close encounter

Bayer Leverkusen beat Borussia M´gladbach in a close win on Saturday, 1x2, relating to matchweek 19 of the 1. Bundesliga. Coming into the contest, Mönchengladbach's team came from a win, and Leverkusen's team came from a draw.

After 51 minutes, Robert Andrich opened the scoring for Gerardo Seoane's team, from a corner, assisted by Florian Wirtz. With 74 minutes on the clock, Patrik Schick doubled the lead for Leverkusen's team. Nico Elvedi netted the last goal after 81 minutes from a corner. Yann Sommer kept his goal safe by saving the penalty in the final minutes of the game, taken by Kerem Demirbay.

After the result Bayer Leverkusen are 3rd in the table, with 32 points, while Borussia M´gladbach sit 12th place, with 22 points. Next up, Gerardo Seoane's team will host FC Augsburg, whilst Adi Hutter's team will play at home against 1. FC Union Berlin.
