Liverpool triumphed over Milan, 3x2, on Wednesday, on matchweek 1. Both Jürgen Klopp's team and Stefano Pioli's team held their first game in the competition.
In a very unlucky moment, Fikayo Tomori scored an own-goal with 9 minutes on the clock. After 42 minutes, Ante Rebic fired home for Milan, with a right-foot strike, assisted by Rafael Leão. Shortly before the interval, Brahim Díaz scored the second goal for Milano's team, with a left-foot shot inside the penalty area.
After the break, Mohamed Salah fired home Liverpool second goal, with a right-foot shot inside the penalty area, created by Divock Origi. With 69 minutes on the clock, Jordan Henderson scored the last goal of the match, from a corner.
After the result Liverpool are 1st in the table, with 18 points, while Milan sit 4th place, with 4 points. In relation to forthcoming league matches, Jürgen Klopp's team visit FC Porto, whilst Stefano Pioli's team will host Atlético Madrid.
