UEFA Youth League: Besiktas stumble to defeat against Sporting

Sporting edged out Besiktas, 1x3, on Tuesday, on to matchday 3 of the UEFA Youth League. Coming into the contest, Onder Karaveli's team came from two defeats, and Filipe Pedro's team came from two draws.

After 12 minutes, Gilberto Batista left the game early after seeing a red card. The opening goal was scored by Diogo Travassos with 40 minutes on the clock. With 45 minutes already played, Besiktas saw Okan Agrap get sent off due to accumulation of yellows.

After the break, Emirhan Delibas fired home for Onder Karaveli's team, assisted by Emirhan Ilkhan. Sporting scored their second goal of the game through Chico Lamba, after 60 minutes, laid on by Lucas Dias. In the closing stages of the game, Samuel Justo netted the final goal of the game, assisted by Diogo Travassos.

After the result Sporting are 1st in the table, with 11 points, while Besiktas sit 4th place, with 3 points. Next up, Filipe Pedro's team will host Besiktas.
