U18 Premier League: Chelsea beat Southampton

Chelsea edged out Southampton, 5x2, on Saturday, in a game related to matchweek 18 of U18 Premier League. To this matchday, the blues came from two defeats, and Jeremy Newton 's team came from two defeats. Donnell McNeilly was on fire.

Donnell McNeilly opened the score after 32 minutes. Shortly before the interval, Josh Pitts struck for Southampton. With 45 minutes already played, Leo Castledine fired home Chelsea second goal, from the penalty spot.

In the 51st minute, Michael Golding doubled the lead for Ed Brand 's team. With 61 minutes on the clock, the blues increased their lead with a goal from Donnell McNeilly. Jeremy Newton 's team scored their second goal of the game through Josh Pitts, in the closing stages of the game. In the final minutes of the game, Louis Flower netted the final goal of the game.

After the result Chelsea are 5th in the table, with 27 points, while Southampton sit 10th place, with 18 points. In their next fixture, the blues will play at home against Aston Villa, whilst Jeremy Newton 's team will host Crystal Palace.
