Liverpool survive Adrian blunder to beat Saints

Liverpool beat Southampton to record their 11th straight top flight win - equalling their best Premier League run - but had to endure a nervy finish after a clanger from goalkeeper Adrian.

Leading 2-0 at St Mary's Stadium, the European champions were in cruise control until their number two keeper - deputising for the injured Alisson - gifted former Liverpool striker Danny Ings a goal against his old club. 

Ings' strike reduced the deficit after goals from Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino had given Liverpool a two-goal cushion. 

In fact, Adrian's error could have proved costly for Jurgen Klopp's Reds: Ings wasting a good chance from close range late on.
