A deadly double from talisman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang helped Arsenal come from behind to lift the FA Cup - the Gunners beating Chelsea 2-1 to win the competition for a record 14th time.
Frank Lampard's Chelsea burst out of the blocks and were a goal to the good inside five minutes through Christian Pulisic's smart finish. However, Aubameyang drew Arsenal level from the penalty spot before the break and then wrote himself into Gunners folklore with a world-class matchwinner.
Aubameyang's brace followed his two goals in the semi-final win over Manchester City - the 31-year-old Gabon forward shining on the big stage to help Mikel Arteta become the only person ever to captain and manage Arsenal to FA Cup success.
Chelsea blues
After their fabulous start, Chelsea were thrown out of their stride by a first-half injury to Cesar Azpilicueta and then suffered a further casualty when goalscorer Pulisic picked up a hamstring problem after the break.
A second booking for Mateo Kovacic completed Chelsea's misery - the Blues midfielder very harshly dismissed for a challenge on Granit Xhaka.
Arsenal's triumph secures their place in next season's Europa League - and the plaudits will unsurprisingly go Aubameyang's way: his sublime chipped finish over Willy Cabellero a fitting way to win a cup final.
