Up to 10,000 fans per stadium could be allowed to return in time for the final day of Premier League action as new guidelines are set out by the UK government as they begin to plot a path out of the current lockdown.
English stadiums with 40,000 seats or more will be allowed 10,000 supporters, should Covid-19 cases continue to fall, while smaller teams will be allowed to fill one-quarter of their capacity.
The earliest date for these plans is May 17th, with the final day of the Premier League season on May 23rd, meaning likely Premier League champions Manchester City could have supporters in-house to witness their final game against Everton.
The May 17th date comes after the close of the three EFL seasons on May 9th, although the play-offs are scheduled after this date, unlike the FA Cup and Carabao Cup finals.
