Still in search of Jason Tindall's long term replacement, Bournemouth welcomed Cardiff to the Vitality, with the Bluebirds mid-season managerial change continuing to produce with Mick McCarthy's side on a five game winning run.
The Action: After a decent start from Bournemouth, Cardiff's set-piece prowess struck again as dead-ball specialist Harry Wilson curled a corner directly onto the head of a flying Sean Morrison, nodded the ball home and followed his goal with a celebration that will likely be going viral very soon.
Asmir Begovic then looked to have stopped the onslaught with a stunning save from a point-blank Kieffer Moore strike that looked destined for the back of the net, but Moore soon got to bag his 15th of the season from the spot, securing a 2-0 half time lead.
Bournemouth took control of the game in the second half, and it was only thanks to Dillon Phillips that they didn't reply quickly, first saving from Sam Surridge from close range, before getting a strong hand down to deny a well hit Dominic Solanke effort.
The Cherries eventually got themselves back into the game through the experienced Shane Long when he headed home with 23 minutes to play, but Bournemouth were unable to collect anything from the remainder of the match.
The Big Picture: Cardiff leapfrog Bournemouth into the play-offs with tonight's win, and look like sticking around as McCarthyball appears to very much suit their side. And after naming Jonathan Woodgate on a permanent basis Bournemouth look like they could be made to regret it.
Memorable Moment: You'll have to see it to believe it, but Morrison's rather provocative celebration will soon be posted in WhatsApp groups across the country.
xG: Bournemouth (1.88) 1-2 (1.75) Cardiff
Man of the Match: Phillips' two wonder saves completely destroyed any remaining confidence that Bournemouth had, and secured his side the three points.
Stat of the Day: Cardiff were 10 points from the play-offs when McCarthy took over, they're now in sixth place with 20 points collected out of a possible 24.
