Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City have received the green light to take 2,000 fans apiece to Wembley for the Carabao Cup final on 25 April.
There are some stipulations to who can attend, however: fans under 18 are not eligible, and people who are clinically extremely vulnerable or pregnant have also been directed not to apply for tickets.
For those lucky enough to get a ticket, a lateral flow coronavirus test will need to be taken at a designated site - not at home - in the preceding 24 hours before the game, and proof of a negative result (either a text or an email) will then need to be shown.
With coronavirus restrictions scaling down, the decision to filter fans back into stadiums forms part of the government's events research programme, which makes assessments regarding how and when major events can reopen safely to the public.
There will be 8,000 fans in total at Wembley for the clash, as José Mourinho attempts to guide Spurs to their first piece of silverware since 2008, with the other 4,000 tickets being split between other groups including Brent residents and NHS staff.
On 18 April, the FA Cup semi-final between Leicester City and Southampton will welcome 4,000 fans - while the final on 15 May has been opened up to 21,000 spectators.
