Heading into Sunday's Carabao Cup final at Wembley, Manchester City and Tottenham share a common stain thanks to their aborted European Super League plans - but the two clubs are otherwise in very different boats.
In a week dominated by ESL controversy, the League Cup final will offer welcome distraction, as both teams look to add some silverware to their trophy cabinets.
Since booking their place in Sunday's showpiece at the start of the year, Manchester City have been in sensational form. A comeback win against Villa midweek means the Premier League is almost in the bag - although their loss to Chelsea in last Saturday's FA Cup's semi-final did scupper the dream of winning the quadruple. After the Spurs clash, the Citizens then face PSG in their Champions League semi-final first leg - Guardiola and co firmly in the midst of the business end of their season.
Spurs, meanwhile, look all at sea. With José Mourinho sacked on Monday, six days before a potentially season-defining fixture, Ryan Mason will take charge and try to guide Spurs to their first trophy since they beat Chelsea to win this competition back in 2008. It's a huge game for Spurs, who currently sit sixth in the top flight with Liverpool, West Ham and Chelsea all vying with them for the coveted fourth spot in the table.
