Leicester City winger Harvey Barnes will be sidelined for the remainder of the Premier League season, as he requires knee surgery.
The 23-year-old picked up the injury in the Foxes' 3-1 defeat to Arsenal in February, and has been unable to stake a claim for a spot in Gareth Southgate's Euro 2020 squad, which is due to be named in late May.
"It's a shame he will miss the Euros because he has been outstanding," said Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers.
Barnes has been a key contributor for the Foxes this season, Rodgers' men currently third in the top flight and closing in on Champions League qualification.
The England winger underwent surgery earlier in the year, but a "slight setback" in his recovery has scuppered his plans of returning to action this term.
"The plan is to get Harvey through the second operation and be back for pre-season," added Rodgers.
"The most important thing is to get his knee right."
Leicester next face Southampton on Friday at 20:00 BST.
