Former Manchester United and Aston Villa winger Ashley Young is a Serie A champion after Inter's title success at the weekend - to become only the second English player ever to win the Scudetto.
After second-placed Atalanta drew 1-1 with Sassuolo yesterday, Inter became champions for the first time in eleven years, manager Antonio Conte ending Juventus' nine-year stranglehold on the Italian title.
Although Young has not been a regular starter this season, the 35-year-old has chalked up 31 games across all competitions for Inter this term - with 14 starts and 9 substitute appearances in the league this term.
With Inter lifting the league title, Young goes into the history books as the only Englishman this century to win Serie A - although one of his compatriots has previously managed the feat.
Gerry Hitchens is widely regarded as the first Englishman ever to win the Serie A title in 1963 - although the legendary Jimmy Greaves scored nine goals in 14 games for AC Milan in their Scudetto triumph of 1961.
Greaves, however, left midway through Milan's title season and is therefore not recognised as a Serie A champion by most sources.
Another name worth mentioning is Joseph 'Giuseppe' Wilson, an Italy international - born in Darlington - who won Serie A with Lazio in 1973/74.
