He may not be a box office name, but Lille's former sporting director Luís Campos has had a huge hand in destabilising PSG's hold over Ligue 1.
At the heart of the Monaco and Lille's recruitment teams that inspired both sides to success in the French top flight, Portuguese Campos is one of the most wanted men in football for his uncanny ability to identify the superstars of tomorrow.
Currently a free agent, Campos is reportedly attracting the attention of Juventus, Manchester United and Tottenham and it is not difficult to see why given his recent successes.
Winning habits
At Monaco between 2013 and 2017, and then at Lille between 2017 and 2020, Campos has helped build championship winning squads that have both managed to pip mega-money PSG to the title: Monaco in 2016/17 and Lille - who were crowned Ligue 1 champions yesterday - this season.
A quick roll call of the players he has developed is enough to understand why Campos' services are sought after. Historically, the likes of Anthony Martial, Fabinho, Bernardo Silva, Benjamin Mendy, Thomas Lemar, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Kylian Mbappe, Geoffrey Kondogbia, Nicolas Pepe, Rafael Leao, Gabriel Magalhaes and Victor Osimhen have been unearthed under the Portuguese's watchful eye and then sold for huge fees.
After Lille's success this season, a raft of new names can be added to the list, including defender Sven Botman, midfielders Boubakary Soumaré and Renato Sanches, and attacking players like Canadian Jonathan David, Jonathan Ikoné and Jonathan Bamba.
Campos seems ready to embark on his next challenge and the English top flight looks a likely destination...which would suit PSG, who must be praying he doesn't join another aspirational French side.
