Manchester City have made an offer of at least £100 million to Tottenham for Harry Kane, with Spurs set to turn down the opening bid for their wantaway star.
Kane informed the club of his intention to leave last month at the tail end of the 2020/21 season, with Tottenham instantly shutting down any thoughts due to Kane having three years left on his current contract.
However, The Guardian report that City have now tested the resolve of chairman Daniel Levy, with a club-record bid, whilst remaining open to the possibility of a player-plus-cash deal.
Spurs remain determined to hold on to England captain Kane, but after another trophyless season and a disastrous couple of months trying to recruit a new manager, City may rate their chances of prying away one of the world’s best players.
