Mauricio Pochettino has extended his contract at PSG by a further year, keeping him at the club until 2023, following an initial disappointing five months at the helm.
The former Tottenham and Southampton boss agreed to take over the reins in January, only signing on an 18-month contract before missing out on the Ligue 1 title to Lille, and exiting the Champions League at the semi-final stage against Manchester City.
However, Pochettino has still earned a year’s extension in Paris, with the club investing heavily this summer by securing deals for Gianluigi Donnarumma, Sergio Ramos, Achraf Hakimi and Georginio Wijnaldum.
The former PSG midfielder had been linked with a return to Spurs following Jose Mourinho’s dismissal, but this new deal ensures the Argentine will have more time to prove himself back in France.
