Mikel Arteta has picked up the Premier League manager of the month award for September after Arsenal recorded three straight victories last month.
With pressure mounting on the Spaniard after three consecutive top flight losses in August, the Gunners turned things around with victories over Norwich, Burnley and north London rivals Tottenham to drag themselves out of the relegation zone.
Arsenal now sit 11th in the Premier League table, Arteta beating fellow nominees Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp, Graham Potter and Dean Smith to bag the monthly accolade.
"It's a great feeling, it means we went on a good run and won matches," said Arteta after receiving the award.
Meanwhile, Manchester United's blockbuster summer signing Cristiano Ronaldo won the player of the month award after scoring three times in his first two games back with the Red Devils after returning to Old Trafford from Juventus.
'CR7' adds the award to his already-bulging mantelpiece after fighting off competition from Manchester City's Joao Cancelo, Chelsea's Antonio Rudiger, Newcastle's Allan Saint-Maximin, Liverpool's Mohamed Salah and Watford's Ismaila Sarr.
