Bobby Dazzler: Firmino's 100% accuracy

Roberto Firmino completed a close-range hat-trick in Liverpool's 5-0 thrashing of Watford this weekend. The Brazilian looks to have rediscovered his goalscoring form, and so far this season every one of his shots have hit the target.

Liverpool's front three faced criticism last season but are now hitting top form once again - and not just because of Mohamed Salah's wonders strikes. In the 2020/21 season, Firmino netted just nine times in 48 games. But thanks to his fox-in-the-box performance against Watford, Firmino is up to six goals already in all competitions as Liverpool look to regain the Premier League title.

Here, we take a look at some of the numbers behind Firmino's impressive efficiency:

Lethal touch

Firmino has had just five shots on target so far in the Premier League this season, all of which have been on target resulting in four goals. That 100% accuracy continues when you include his two-goal cameo appearance against Porto in the Champions League too, where Firmino scored from both of his two shots. In total, Firmino has taken seven shots this season and hit the target every time - scoring six goals in the process.

All three of Firmino's goals against Watford were scored from inside the six-yard box. That's the most of any Premier League player in total this season - putting the striker ahead of players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Bernardo Silva, and Salah who have bagged two each.

With an average of 1.7 goals per 90 minutes, Firmino has the best goals per minute ratio of Premier League players who have played more than 90 minutes this season. Dominic Calvert-Lewin is a distant second place with 1.1 goals per 90 minutes.

History maker

Firmino ranks ahead of Luis Suárez (82) and Fernando Torres (81) with 93 goals in total for the Reds in his career so far. Impressively, 'Bobby' is Liverpool's 20th highest scorer of all time. And, if his impressive goal-scoring form continues, he could soon catch up to John Toshack (96), Kevin Keegan (100), and his teammate Sadio Mané (103).
