The EFL have officially confirmed Derby County's punishment for breaching Profitability and Sustainability rules, by having the club a further 12-point penalty – 9 points deducted immediately and 3 points suspended.
The EFL posted their full agreement decision between the league and the club that outlines the financial breaches made by Derby County from 2016 to 2018.
The new penalty means that Derby – already bottom of the league – have a total of 21 points deducted from this season's total taking them from 6 points down to -3. Derby had also appealed the previous 12-point deduction but that has been dismissed.
Wayne Rooney's side are now 18 points from safety and face a monumental task of staying up in the Championship season with League One looming ever closer.
Derby's next two league games see them face the division's best two teams when they host Bournemouth on Sunday before a trip to Craven Cottage in the following round.
